Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein was suspended Thursday from the social platform X after sharing materials about Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) that were allegedly obtained in an Iranian hack on former President Trump\u2019s campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Klippenstein published the 271-page report compiled by the Trump campaign to vet Vance, now the Republican nominee\u2019s running mate, on his Substack.\u00a0<\/p>\n
An X spokesperson said in a statement that the journalist\u2019s account was suspended for posting \u201cunredacted private personal information\u201d about Vance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cKen Klippenstein was temporarily suspended for violating our rules on posting unredacted private personal information, specifically Sen. Vance\u2019s physical addresses and the majority of his Social Security number,\u201d the spokesperson said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Trump campaign revealed last month that it had been hacked<\/a> and internal documents had been leaked. The FBI later confirmed that Iran was behind the breach<\/a> and that the country had attempted to disrupt both presidential campaigns.\u00a0<\/p>\n The documents were shared with various media outlets, but they opted not to publish the stolen materials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
