\u201cdeeply sorry\u201d in the wake of a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/technology\/4781395-crowdstrike-global-internet-outage-not-cyberattack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">global internet outage<\/a> that hit airlines and businesses worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanna start with saying we&#8217;re deeply sorry for the impact that we&#8217;ve caused to customers, to travelers, to anyone affected by this, including our company,\u201d George Kurtz said in an interview on NBC&#8217;s \u201cToday\u201d show. \u201cSo, we know what the issue is. We&#8217;re resolving and have resolved the issue. Now it&#8217;s recovering systems that are out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/cancelled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">flight-tracking website<\/a> FlightAware, more than 27,000 flights were delayed worldwide, with more than 2,700 of them in the U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Ryanair\/status\/1814199381798658382\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multiple airlines noted<\/a> they were facing <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AmericanAir\/status\/1814217807153836285\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">troubles with technology<\/a> Friday in posts on the social platform X.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts,\u201d Kurtz <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/George_Kurtz\/status\/1814235001745027317\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said in a post early Friday morning<\/a> on X. \u201cMac and Linux hosts are not impacted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not a security incident or cyberattack,\u201d he added. \u201cThe issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed.
